CAP Support Wiki


CAP's small community employs a diverse, changing set of technologies. That dynamism testifies to our on-going interests in technical developments, but it also hinders our ability to document and support services. Using wiki software, we're creating an informal web site to describe our resources.

Many CAP services require an account.

Hopefully, some of the links below can help you get started with the services you need to use. If you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions, then please contribute or contact a systems administrator.

Facilities, Services, and Software

Service Levels

Services often require maintenance, and users often require assistance. Since we have finite resources, we assign varying levels of support to each service. In the "Services and Software" list, the levels of support are indicated with textual cues.

LevelTextual CueDescription
PrimaryBold textAt least two people support the system. Services affect coursework in the current semester. Support requests are usually processed within two days.
SecondaryNormal textServices are stable and well-understood, but they are not actively used in a course during the current semester. These are sometimes used in personal or on-going research projects.
RestrictedItalic textWe don't currently have infrastructure for wide-spread usage of this service. Services may be underdeveloped, limited by licensing, or technically cumbersome. Interested parties should make inquiries.
